Introducing the 100s CLUB . . .

The problem with practising is that in 100 out of 99 cases, the road to mastery is  littered with boredom.  Dr. Suzuki's advice to repeat a point 10,000 times is NOT hyperbole.
Of course it is preferable to be present and involved than to repeat things mindlessly, but sometimes we just have to go over things lots of times, even once whatever we are doing seems to have become easy!  At these times it is very helpful to have a way to measure progress--and what better way than counting?  That's where I like to introduce the 100s Club.  You can use a chart like this one:

The '100' can be a small point practiced over a week, or an entire piece played for several weeks, or it could just be 100 days of practicing.  It is up to teachers, pupils, and parents to set the challenge, but wouldn't it be nice to have a ceremonial induction at the end of all that hard work?  And present a certificate like this:

If you provide us with an image we can produce a certificate for you.  And we can alter the design to your specifications.  To discuss options, please
